1.) Elephant Polo

Elephants are not just attractions in circuses and zoos or beast of burdens in Thailand and other Asian countries they are also utilize in a unique sport called Elephant Polo. This sport is a variant of polo played whilst riding elephants. This game is popular in India, Sri Lanka, Nepal and Thailand. This game was first played in India but the modern game originated in Nepal.

Equipment used in the game is a standard polo ball and a 6-9 foot cane sticks with polo mallet head on the end. The pitch is three-quarters of the length of a standard polo pitch. Two people ride each elephant; the elephants are steered by mahouts, while the player tells the mahout which way to go and hits the ball.
